Joanna Williams is a public health advocate who is passionate about starting the conversations that Australians shies away from.
She is the Strategy Director of Bits and Bods, an upcoming web series that talks to teen girls and gender diverse teens about sex, bodies and all the awkward bits in between. In this role, she supports 31 diverse young people to share their stories and advice to strip back the shame and stigma associated with sexuality.
Joanna started her career in public health at 16 when she co-founded Highschoolers Against Homophobia. She has since worked with AIDS Council of NSW (ACON), International AIDS Society and International Planned Parenthood Federation, and has a Master of Public Health from the University of Melbourne, where she now teaches. She also does lived experience advocacy around being queer, a survivor of sexual assault and living with a disability.
